The crystals from the Brandberg region in Namibia are quite rare. They are only available when they find a new pocket in the Gobobos Mountains in Namibia. Aside from their rarity, these crystals are prized for their beauty; each and every one is a jewel from the earth. And their energy is nothing to be discounted either; they have a clear and bright energy as a whole that is very strong and direct. Brandberg crystals are known for their powerful energy that is very high vibration yet grounding at the same time. Brandbergs are known to open doors and new paths and unblocking channels in our consciousness. They help to lighten up life with crystalline energy and power. These crystals often have wispy phantoms, bright luster and fairly good clarity. Some even have enhydro bubbles.

Brandberg crystals this large are rather infrequent and I was delighted to discover this beauty in my African shipment.  Very pale smoky, it almost seems to just be tinted with smoke.  The crystal is very lustrous just as Brandbergs should be.  But one of the things that made me very happy to meet this crystal is its beautiful elestial formation enhanced by the deep etchings and glyphs on its faces.  Almost double terminated, the crystal has a bit of matrix clinging to its bum.  Its interior is misty towards its base, but its increasing clarity towards the termination display loads of hoppered chambers that may encase water.  I haven't been able to find any moving air bubbles, but I get the distinct impression of water from this beautiful Spirit.  The interior is also graced with vibrant yet elusive rainbows that will entice you to keep searching!

The crystal measures 2.1" x 1.7" x 1.1" and weighs 2.7oz.

Smoky Quartz is almost a default crystal in any crystal layout. It is grounding, protective and can transform negative energy into positive energy. As one friend put it to me, Smoky Quartz is good for humans, because we are currently quite murky beings ourselves! It is a very joyful crystal. It is helpful to hold if you have other crystals that UN-ground you such as Moldavite.

It can also be found in Elestial form and on rare occasions, Cathedral formation. Smoky Quartz clusters can be found, but are really quite rare. Sometimes Smoky combines with Amethyst, which gives you the benefits of both, as well as creating their own unique energy combined. Phantom crystals in Smoky are very powerful in breaking old patterns and blockages.

A crystal with a point at each end is called double terminated. It is believed that they have the ability to receive or transmit energy from both ends. They are used for alignment, patience, perseverance, protection, dreaming, and astral projection. Double terminated crystals strengthen energy flow, and are especially useful when you need to share or exchange energy between you and another person. Double terminated crystals are very important to people doing healing work for themselves or others.

Elestials are master healers and work on many-many levels. The translation for Elestial is “Crystal of the Angels” and thus has a strong link with the Angelic realm. One may retrieve information stored in Elestials by running your hands over the etching of the crystal, before long your hands start moving on their own, you are reading the crystal much the same way as the blind use Braille language.
