Why Massage Therapist?

I've always been a person who communicates through touch. When I was younger I would sit on the back of the couch and massage shoulders of family and friends. I never really thought about becoming a massage therapist until I was older, in fact I wanted to be almost anything but, not realizing being a massage therapist was ever an option. I wanted to be a veterinarian, marine biologist, computer programmer, and even briefly thought of becoming an accountant (shudder - not that there's anything wrong with being an accountant, just not for me!)

Touch therapies such as massage are very powerful and profound healing modalities. Touch is an integral part of people’s lives. We kiss children's hurts to make them better, and when someone is distressed, we hold them or rub their back to soothe and comfort them. These principles are at the core of each massage.

There are a lot of preconceptions with massage, such as massage is only for spas, and pampering. After a couple of car accidents, I realized that this was not true! Massage was a part of my therapy to get me back on track. It helped to relax the painful spasms and return my range of motion in my neck and shoulders. During my time in school, I realized how much good a therapist can do through massage, so much more so than I had ever imagined. Even if you just have massage for reduction of stress, it has so many beneficial effects. Long Term Stress can alter you digestion and metabolism, making it easier to gain weight and have digestive disorders.

Each session with Jennifer is a unique and customized experience, tuned to your body’s individual needs. Each massage is a blend of Swedish, Deep-Tissue, and Thai massage combined with Reiki, aromatherapy, and reflexology.

My  passion for healing began in 1999 with extensive practice in crystal and gemstone chakra therapy. 

Jennifer also offers classes for Reiki and Gemstone Chakra Therapy.

Any cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment are subject to a cancellation fee up to the full session price.
